About Us

Born out of hope and resilience, the Bodoland Development Foundation (BDF) was established on 16 August 2021 as a Section 8 Company under the Companies Act 2013. It was founded by a group of like-minded individuals from diverse backgrounds, united by a vision—“A self-reliant, sustainable, and dignified society.”
Set against the backdrop of the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) of Assam, where over 3.5 million people still bear the weight of more than three decades of socio-political unrest, BDF emerged as a beacon of change. The years of conflict left deep scars—fractured communities, disrupted livelihoods, and stalled progress. Even as peace returned, challenges persisted: poverty, unemployment, and a lack of basic services.
At BDF, we saw the struggles, especially for women and marginalized groups—people with dreams but few opportunities. Determined to rewrite this narrative, we stepped forward with interventions aimed at rebuilding lives, empowering communities, and fostering sustainable development.
Today, the journey continues. With every step, we are shaping a future where Bodoland rises—not in despair, but in dignity and self-reliance.
